Aerials Olympic champion Han tumbles out of final

VANCOUVER, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The men's aerials Olympic champion Han Xiaopeng of China tumbled in his second jump and failed to enter the final at the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games at the Cypress Mountain on Monday.

Han, who won China its first gold medal on snow by winning the men's aerials four years ago in Turin, left the mountain in tears as he placed 21st among the 24 competitors.

Only the top 12 athletes qualified for the final on Feb. 25.

Han, who became the first Chinese man champion in winter sports in Turin, executed his first jump for 111.95 points which placed him 12th before he crashed on landing in his second jump, 80.57 points.

The 26-year-old said: "The second jump is my favourite which helped me to win the title four years ago in Turin. I felt great when I was in Clip on charms the air. I had a pretty good landing but suddenly I lost balance and control of body.

"I thought maybe I landed on an even place. However, that is the reality I have to accept," said the flagbearer of Chinese team at the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Games.

Han continued his winning streak in 2007 world championships but turned a low-tide since suffering injuries on his knees.

He struggled to earn a spot of the Chinese team for the Olympics in the last moment thanks to his experience and fame.

"I'm not young any more. I believe this is my last Winter Olympic Games. I'm sorry to leave the Games with such a flaw," he said.

While Han failing to enter the final, other three Chinese entries sailed into the last 12, as the 18-year-old Jia Zongyang topped the pack and Qi Guangpu and Liu Zhongqing placed 10th and 11th.

"They performed very good today. I hope they can make their dreams come true in the final, just like what I did four years ago," Han said.

Why do bad boys turn me on?

Dear Miriam,

I'm 28 and would like to be involved in a loving, committed relationship. I believed I had all of that with my last boyfriend but he cheated on me with my sister. I don't have anything to do with her now either. She's dead to me.

Six months on, I've been getting back into dating and I've had several onenight stands. I now seem to be attracted to bad boys, men I wouldn't look twice at before. I don't find men looking for commitment sexually attractive.

Why am I going after the bad ones? I don't understand myself at all.

replica tag heruer watches

Ellie

Dear Ellie,

There's no greater barrier to romantic happiness than the fear that we don't deserve love and our destiny is to be hurt.

You were cruelly betrayed by your sister and your ex, and your interest in bad boys may be a form of selfprotection.

If you don't get too close, you won't end up getting hurt but you can have the excitement.

A bad boy gives you compliments and attention but the moment you cease to keep him happy, he loses interest. Ask yourself what's really so attractive about a man who doesn't care about you unless he wants sex? You're on the road to thinking relationships are a sex marathon with no loving or caring. Breaking a pattern isn't easy but you should want better for yourself.

Our perfect life was a fantasy

Dear Miriam,

My husband and I were married for 37 years when he died suddenly from a heart attack. We'd just returned from a wonderful holiday. He was my whole world and I was devastated.

A few months after his funeral, a friend said I ought to know he'd been having an affair with a woman who was a regular in our local pub. I confronted her and eventually she admitted it was true but said it was me he loved.

them said it was me he loved.

I can't think straight. I'm so torn between grief, sadness, shock and anger. It's as if I lived with a stranger My heart's broken. What can I do?

Jo

Dear Jo,

Your emotions of love and grief are now loaded with feelings of anger and betrayal. You've suffered a double bereavement.

You loved a man who wasn't perfect and must give yourself permission to feel everything you're feeling. But don't let this discovery erase all the thousands of things he did right.

Other than break his commitment to remain exclusive, if he always was a loving husband to you, maybe you can forgive him? Please try to focus on the many wonderful years you had together. In the long run, they're what's important.

He won't defend me

Dear Miriam,

My future mother-in-law has made it clear she doesn't like me or approve of me. She can be very rude and unfriendly. I'm in my 30s and so is her son. I've never done anything to offend her.

I understand there might be some sadness about him leaving home but I think it's long overdue and she's been lucky to keep him for so long.

I'm angry that my fiance ignores her nastiness and it's causing friction between us. I'm losing respect for him day by day.

How Niagara Won: It's been a long, long time since the Puple Eagles broke down a defense the way they did Siena's man-to-man. Twenty-six twos against seven threes? Those just aren't typical Niagara numbers. And they did it in myriad ways, from guard penetration to sweet passing by the big men once the ball was kicked down low. These numbers put it well: 22 assists against 13 turnovers. Point guard Anthony Nelson and guard/forward Demetrius Williamson had six assists apiece.

Turning Point: Siena led 50-46, with about 15 minutes left. Next thing you knew it was Niagara, 70-55. A Tyrone Lewis three started it off. Then Bilal Benn scored twice underneath. Threes by Lewis and Austin Cooley threw gasoline on the replica tag heruer watches fire. But it wasn't just what Niagara was doing on the offensive end. The Purple Eagles forced turnovers, produced steals. The Saints finished with 16 turnovers, five by senior point guard Ronald Moore.

Player of the Game: Kashief Edwards got the start because Rob Garrison was being displined for missing a class. It was a good class to miss. Edwards played 32 minutes and scored a career-high 20 points, blocked two shots, came up with three steals. He'd been averaging 7.4 points.

Stat of the Game: Siena's Alex Franklin, averaging a team-high 16.2 replica hublot watches points, was held to nine and scored just two field goals.

Stat of the Game II: Purple Eagles shot 54.1 percent for the game (33-61) and 58.1 percent in the second half (18-31).

They Said It:

Siena Coach Fran McCaffery on Niagara: "It been hard to evaluate them. I've watched them and been surprised in some of the game I watched. That weren't as sharp as they've been. . . . This is a team I think that regardless or where they are in the standings when the season ends is going to be a very difficult team to play in the conference tournament. And I think if you asked any coach in the league that question they would all agree."

Niagara Coach Joe Mihalich: "Just a great feeling in that locker room. It's a feeling we were waiting for all year long. We had it earlier, we had some good wins, but it's been a while since we've had that feeling. Clearly it was just a terrific win against a Top 30 team in the country. But more than that, we think that's who we are."

In the House: 2,310 at the Gallagher and still the best student section in Erie or Niagara County.

Next Up: Niagara meets Marist at 2 p.m. Sunday on Senior Day. Siena moves on to Canisius at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Koessler Athletic Center.

Winning debut OK, but it gets tougher

VANCOUVER -- Give your fingernails a rest, Canada. And hold off on slamming your fist down on the panic button.

At least, for now.

replica tag heruer watches

Our men's Olympic hockey team -- who are chasing the only gold medal that matters for many in the country -- made its Vancouver 2010 debut Tuesday night in a dominant 8-0 victory over lightweight Norway in front of a delighted capacity crowd of 16,652 at Canada Hockey Place.

And while the scoreline wasn't even remotely surprising given the opponent, it is significant especially when measured against the horrific seventh-place showing in Turin four years ago.

Remember, the star-studded crew this country sent to Italy in 2006 was expected to dominate, too, but managed only 15 goals in the entire tournament and was shut out in three of its last four games in one of the most shocking and embarrassing performances by a national team in this country's history.

So 8-0 over Norway with all of one practice together?

Yeah, they'll take it.

"It's good to get this under your belt. It's been a long time coming, a lot of talk," said veteran Team Canada defenceman Chris Pronger. "It's nice to get into a game and play for real.

"The mantra of the day was to just go out and have some fun. In years past everybody's so worried about winning and focused on winning, winning, winning you forget the fun element of the game."

Canada looked sluggish in the scoreless opening period as new line combinations and defence pairings worked to establish some sort of chemistry.

That prompted two wise-alec Russian journalists seated behind yours truly to crack 'No Canada, No' when the fans started the familiar 'Go Canada, Go!' chant.

But in the final 40 minutes, Canada stormed the Norwegian net and pumped home eight goals while Roberto Luongo kicked out all 15 shots for the shutout and the win.

"There was a lot of electricity in the air," said Luongo. "This is big for Canada and for Vancouver. You definitely felt the electricity, it kind of felt like a playoff game.

"That first period? That was our first period as a team so I'm not too worried about it. We felt it out and then in the second we took over the game and you saw what type of team we are."

Among the significant developments for Canada:

The eight goals scored are the most for a Canadian men's Olympic team dating back to a 10-0 spanking of Norway in 1992 in Albertville.

Two of Canada's big-time snipers -- Dany Heatley and Jarome Iginla -- both found the back of the net twice.

Ryan Getzlaf, whose presence on the team was in doubt as recently as Monday, replica hublot watches scored once and looked solid on a line with Anaheim teammate Corey Perry and Eric Staal.

The mobile and physical defensive corps helped contribute offensively with five players -- Shea Weber, Scott Niedermayer, Pronger, Dan Boyle and Drew Doughty -- all picking up at least one point.

Sidney Crosby, playing in his first-ever Olympic game, was dynamite in registering three assists.

The special teams were solid, with the power play netting two goals and the penalty-killing unit keeping the Norwegians off the scoresheet.

Federal prosecutors will not pursue the death penalty against four alleged drug gangsters from Buffalo.

The Obama administrator's top prosecutor, Attorney General Eric Holder, has decided against a death penalty case for Thamud Eldridge, 35; Kashika Speed, 36; Kevin "Killer Kev" Allen, 29; and Galen Rose, 36, the U.S. Attorney's office confirmed on Friday.

"We got word that the death penalty is no longer a consideration, but the government is still prosecuting charges that could lead to life in prison for these men," said Robert S. Convissar, one of Speed's court-appointed attorneys.

links of london charms "My client is grateful that the status of the case has been lowered, and he still professes his innocence."

All four men pleaded not guilty last fall to charges that they trafficked in cocaine and used shootings, kidnappings and robberies to intimidate people on the city's East Side. The men are alleged to be associates of some of the Thomas sabo charms most dangerous gangs in the city, including the Bloods, the Montana Street gang and the Newburgh Crew, prosecutors said.

All decisions on whether to pursue a federal death penalty are made in Washington by Holder, according to U.S. Attorney Kathleen M. Mehltretter.

Pretrial proceedings replica breitling watches are moving forward, but no trial date has been set. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph M. Tripi is prosecuting the case, which stems from an investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad and other agencies.

Each of the men was assigned two court-appointed attorneys after prosecutors indicated they were considering a death penalty case. Prosecutors now argue that the men are entitled to only one court- appointed attorney each, while defense lawyers disagree.

BRUSSELS - A rush-hour commuter train sped through a red signal and slammed into an oncoming train as it left a suburban Brussels station Monday, killing at least 18 people and disrupting rail traffic in northern Europe.

Investigations into one of the worst accidents on the Belgian rails were likely to focus Thomas sabo charms on whether human error was responsible or if it could have been influenced by the persistently freezing temperatures that have iced up the European capital.

Officials said 80 people were injured, 20 of them seriously, and the death toll - 15 men and three women - was not considered final. As darkness fell more than 10 hours later, rescuers were still looking for victims in the wreckage, said Jos Colpin, the spokesman for the federal prosecutor's office.

The fate of the two drivers was not immediately known, and officials said they were having difficulty identifying some of the victims.

The trains, carrying a total of about 300 passengers, collided in light snow just outside of the station at Buizingen about 9 miles from Brussels around 8:30 a.m.

The impact peeled away the front of one train car and threw at least one other off the tracks, severing the limbs of some passengers, witnesses and officials said. One engine was thrust high into the air and snapped overhead power lines.

"When we came out, we saw dead bodies lying next to the tracks, some mutilated," said Patricia Lallemand, 40, who was in a middle car of one train and was unhurt.

Lodewijk De Witte, the governor of the province of Flemish Brabant, told reporters one train "apparently did not heed a stop light."

One of the front cars appeared to have careened across the tracks, demolishing a small maintenance shed next to the rail line. A high concrete wall around the train yard seemed to have kept debris from hitting nearby houses.

Herman van Rompuy, president of the European Council, expressed his "shock and sorrow" over the accident. King Baudouin and Prime Minister Leterme, replica breitling watches who canceled a trip to Kosovo moments after landing in Pristina, visited the crash site.

It was the first serious Belgian train accident since March 28, 2001, when eight people died when a crowded train plowed into an empty train driving on the wrong tracks. The worst European crash in recent history was near the German town of Eschede in 1998 when around 100 people were killed when a cracked wheel hurled a train off the tracks.

Belgian National Railways spokesman Jochen Goovaerts said his agency was awaiting the outcome of the investigation before discussing the cause of Monday's accident.

Eurostar canceled its service from London to Brussels for Monday and advised passengers the line was likely to remain closed Tuesday. The high-speed Thalys train suspended dozens of trains from Paris to the Netherlands and Germany for two days.

At least four Thalys trains were stopped en route, and the railway operator deployed staffers to stations where they were rerouted to provide assistance to travelers on board, said spokeswoman Patricia Baars.

"It was a nightmare," Christian Wampach, 47, told The Associated Press after medical workers bandaged his head at a sports complex where the less seriously injured were treated. Badly hurt victims were taken to 14 hospitals in the Brussels area, and the Red Cross appealed fo

Brisbane resident Ian Faingies inherited his love of trains from his father as a five-year-old.

Forty-five years later that love is still going strong.

Thomas sabo charms "For me I love trains from the 1920s and 1930s," Mr Faingies said.

"The steam trains, they look like they are alive. They breathe."

The Workshops Rail Museum director Andrew Moritz said the convention had drawn serious train enthusiasts from across south- east Queensland and New South Wales.

"For them it is down to the exact dimensions of the carriage or creating a landscape, which is a true record of whatever railway era they are recreating," he said.

CARMEN bucks any bad luck on the 13th anniversary of the production opening in Cardiff thanks to a cast delivering the highlight of WNO's otherwise so-so season.

Replica Miu Miu

Strong singing aside, the most interesting aspect is how the producers Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser turn their back on the opera as a spectacle, rather turning it as much as possible into a twisted love story.

Some may feel cheated by the way we don't see all of the things that most people love about Carmen the show, so don't expect lots of flamenco dancing and Andalucian life.

Instead designer Christian Fenouillat has created a dark and drab set, with earthy characters scraping a living on one side or other of the law. Our soldiers Louis Vuitton Handbags are bored, slack - if clearly well fed - men and the women hardened, vicious.

Replica Chopard

The action is referred to with a lot of pointing out into the auditorium so we look at the crowd's reaction rather than seeing what is happening. Full marks to the chorus, vocally and dramatically, in making this approach to the big scenes work.

What makes this revival the season highlight is the standard of singing returning to the show, especially the totally convincing Patricia Bardon in the title role. This Carmen acts as an animal teasing, tempting men, her steps are like an animal stroking the ground, she literally head butts Jose.

Two winners of the Welsh Chloe Replica Handbags Singers Competition - Sarah Jane Davies as Micaela and Gwyn Hughes Jones as Jose - also demonstrate this is a cast that can sing with presence, beauty and dramatic conviction. Sarah Jane is a richly voiced, sensitive Micaela whose solo arias and duets with Gwyn are charming.

Gwyn's is a Jose that manages to avoid the criticism of being a stupid mummy's boy that loses the plot. With focused, clear singing, this Jose has been driven mad by newly-found passion and incapable of balancing his love with his treatment at her hands and the moral sacrifices he had made.

Versatile baritone David Soar again excels as Escamillo, dramatically given a darker torero to play and sung splendidly.

Conductor Frederic Chaslin demonstrates a firm musical grasp.

By Robert Gagliardi

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Heath Schroyer said his team is as unified as it's ever been.

Unfortunately for the University of Wyoming men's basketball coach, his team still has the same on the court problems.

The Cowboys shot just 38.9 percent from the field, missed 17 free throws and were outrebounded 42-26 in an 80-64 loss at Border War rival Colorado State in front of 5,277 fans Saturday night at Moby Arena.

Gucci Watch

A day after it was announced sophomore guard A.J. Davis left the team for personal reasons, and with only seven fully healthy players, UW could have easily packed it in and gotten blown out just as it did in its last game, a 78-50 home loss to UNLV.

But it didn't. When it looked like the Cowboys would, they cut a 22-point deficit early in the second half down Baume & Mercier Replica to 10.

"I couldn't be more proud of the guys," Schroyer said. "That's a unified group. They're going to have their day. They're going to be fine and we're going to be fine. ... There's a lot of growth that happened the last couple of days."

True freshman guard Desmar Jackson and sophomore center Adam Waddell both finished with 16 points. Waddell had his second career double-double with 10 rebounds on a sprained left ankle he said he tweaked a couple of times in the game.

Still, UW (9-14 overall, 2-7 Mountain West Conference) has lost three straight, six of its last seven and is 0-7 on the road.

CSU (14-9, 5-4) was 8 of 9 from 3-point range in the first half. Three from junior forward Andre McFarland and two from true freshman guard Dorian Green hurt UW the most. McFarland's final one of the half gave the Rams a 39-24 lead with just more than two minutes left.

Jackson sparked UW's second-half run.

His steal and dunk cut the lead to 57-47 with 8 minutes, 26 seconds to play. Another steal by Jackson put him at the free-throw Replica Bedat & CO Watch line with a chance to cut the deficit into single digits.

But he missed both free throws and CSU scored the next four points. UW has now missed 86 free throws over the last seven games.

"I thought that was the turning point in the game," Schroyer said.

CSU shot 51 percent from the field and nearly 60 percent in the first half.

Junior forward Travis Franklin led the Rams with 20 points, and junior forward Andy Ogide had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Waddell echoed his coach's sentiments about this team being unified after Davis' departure and all the other struggles this season.

"Everyone in there has made the commitment to the program and to each other," he said.

UW is back on the road at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at San Diego State.

A GANG tied up a pair of landlords and ransacked their pub, the Echo revealed in February 1990.

The top story of the evening edition was the five masked raiders who broke into the Yew Tree Inn near Tewkesbury at midnight the same day.

replica hublot watches

The men, wielding sheath knives, broke into the pub and spent two hours ransacking the place.

Landlords Paul Davies and David Flux were tied up and threatened with the knives and pool cues.

Mr Flux said: "We were frightened out of our minds."

A woman who was asleep upstairs was also tied up and threatened.

Eventually, the raiders escaped from the scene in the landlord's 2CV car.

They stole a small amount of cash and some household items.

Angry ambulance staff in Gloucestershire threatened more industrial action over a national pay row in February 1990.

The front page of the Echo on February 23 ran with the headline: "No! We are still not satisfied."

Workers said the decision to take strike action was on a "knife's edge" despite the Government hammering out a pay deal with union leaders for an extra 20 per cent.

Staff told the Echo they were more concerned about the lack of a wage formula for the future.

replica tag heruer watches

Ian Summers, Cheltenham station's leading ambulance man, said: "Kenneth Clarke has insulted us throughout this dispute."

The discontent arose when the Government refused to make a pay formula for 999 workers, in line with police and fire officers. Strike action started in September the previous year.

The Echo followed up the front page with a timeline of events in the inside pages.

On February 22 the main news story was the council chiefs' idea to create "ghettos" of bad tenants in Cheltenham.

Rogue tenants could be lumped together in a special "house of horrors" to vent their anti-social behaviour on each other.

Cheltenham Borough Council was due to hold a special meeting on the issue.

Councillor Dudley Aldridge said: "This way all the tenants that cause a nuisance will annoy no one but themselves."

Clip on charms

But Councillor Paul Baker said ghettos were not the answer and the bad resident's should be spread throughout the town.

Cotswold poet Pam Eyres came under fire from a councillor who refused to back her "theatre dream".

The Echo revealed on the front page on February 21 the Cotswold bard's application to convert a barn at her home into a 250-seat theatre was rejected by the district council.

Vice chairman of planning Rex Williams said the Pounds 1 million conversion should be labelled as a "critical application".

Pam said: "It is ridiculous. How many councils can turn down a free theatre?" On the same day Cheltenham Borough Council was still deciding on its level of poll tax.

The headline said: "Juggling figures in a bid to cut poll tax bill."

Most tax payers would receive bills up to Pounds 100 higher than the Department of Environment predicted.

A CHELTENHAM pub has been raided by burglars for the eighth time in nine years.

In the latest attack on the Suffolk Arms, four men in dark hoodies smashed their way though the front door and stole a safe containing Pounds 250 and the pub's lottery syndicate tickets.

Landlord Alan Meaden and his wife Rita, both 61, who live above the pub, were woken at 3am on Monday after a neighbour became suspicious and called the police.

But they narrowly missed the intruders who are thought to have escaped replica tag heruer watches in a car in Suffolk Road moments earlier.

Mr Meaden, who has run the pub for the past 11 years, said: "We woke up with a start with the police banging on the door and came downstairs thinking it was burglars inside the pub.

"We came down fully expecting to have to confront them, but then realised they had already gone.

"They must have been in and out very quickly and did not touch anything apart from the safe - not even a bottle of whiskey."

Police discovered the safe unopened in Pennsylvania Avenue, Hester's Way later that day, with all the money still in it.

Mrs Meaden said it is the eighth burglary since 2001 and she doesn't know why the couple are being targeted.

She said: "When you run a pub, being broken into comes with the territory to a certain extent. But eight times is more than you would expect.

"We never keep much money on the premises and do everything we can in terms of security with CCTV cameras covering every inch of the place.

"Sometimes you just have to accept someone will give it a go. This lot obviously knew exactly what they were doing.

"We're a family pub and this sort of thing is very out of the ordinary. It's a friendly place."

A spokesman for Gloucestershire police said the incident was thought to be linked to a second burglary at a nearby address, which took place on the same day.

Intruders broke into a property in Exmouth Street stealing a wallet and a grey BMW, which was then believed to be used as the getaway vehicle in the Suffolk Arms break-in.

A 19-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been bailed until April 2 pending further police inquiries.

The news was welcome in a neighborhood unaccustomed to private investments and job creation.

And unlike residents of other neighborhoods who sometimes object to organizations that help marginal individuals, neighbors and local officials offered nothing but welcoming arms at the ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of Saving Grace Ministries' new corporate headquarters at Bailey Avenue and Doat Street.

"Saving Grace Ministries has been a blessing. The men [they help] will come out and shovel the sidewalks, and I know the residents, especially the elderly, appreciate it," said Patricia Dalton- Gauthier, former president of the Bailey-Brinkman Block Club.

An estimated 500 men released from prison receive temporary housing and other community re-entry assistance annually at the 10 properties the Rev. Terry King's organization owns on the 1900 block of Bailey, in addition to sites in Rochester, Syracuse and Long Island.

With the acquisition of the Buffalo Fire Department's former quarters for Engine 31, which moved last summer into a new building nearby, Saving Grace Ministries will have enough room to place its office staff of 20 under one roof and hire an additional five workers.

"This is all being done through private financing and donations from churches," King said, adding that he was grateful First Niagara Bank believed enough in his ministry to provide a mortgage.

CSS Construction will employ about 35 workers to extensively renovate the 9,000-square-foot, 21/2-story brick structure that was built in the 1920s. Work is expected to be completed in June.

And two oversized roll-up truck doors that opened onto Bailey, he said, will be closed in with brick and glass blocks in the form of two crosses. On the Doat Street side, the main entrance will open into an atrium.

As a gesture of thanks to interim Fire Commissioner Garnell W. Whitfield Jr. for his cooperation in assisting Pawlik and architect James Bammel, Saving Grace Ministries will return a 2-story brass pole firefighters once slid down to waiting fire trucks.

Mayor Byron W. Brown, who picked up a sledgehammer and swung it against a crumbling plaster and lath wall to mark the Clip on charms beginning of renovations, reminded the 25 people at the event that Saving Grace Ministries, from the start, put consideration of neighbors first.

Lovejoy Common Council Member Richard A. Fontana, who also serves as majority leader, recalled going door-to-door a decade ago with Dalton-Gauthier, a 40-year resident, to see if residents minded Saving Grace Ministries moving into the neighborhood.

HAMDEN -- There was a time during the early portion of the Quinnipiac men's basketball schedule when the Bobcats were a mystery. They were just 4-5 on the season but had played only one game at home, leaving many people wondering how good this team really was.

Night in and night out since, they've solved that mystery.

Quinnipiac hammered Monmouth 82-63 in a Northeast Conference game at the TD Bank Sports Center Thursday to finish the Fendi Replica Handbags regular-season home portion of its schedule with a perfect 12-0 mark. Justin Rutty led all scorers with 25 points and added a dozen rebounds and James Feldeine had a triple-double (19 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists) as Quinnipiac (20-8, 14-3 NEC) won for the 16th time in its last 19 games.

Monmouth (12-17, 8-9) was led by Travis Taylor with 20 points.

"The 20 wins is something that's not lost on me," Quinnipiac coach Tom Moore said. "It's a special number in college basketball."

The Bobcats played brilliantly on offense Thursday. They shot 54 percent from the field in the game and were 7-for-14 from 3-point range. They had 25 assists on 32 field goals led by Feldeine, whose triple-double was the first at Quinnipiac since Kason Mims did it in 2004.

"James really loves to score and I love that about him," postcard printing Moore said. "Tonight he did a phenomenal job of balancing scoring and helping his teammates."

Feldeine said it's just part of him becoming a complete player.

"I was telling coach Moore I've got to play point guard," Feldeine joked. "I didn't know I was even close to a triple-double but at half the coach just told me to keep passing the ball. I wasn't forcing things. I'm letting the offense come to me.

"Tonight I got the ball to my bigs and the guards were hitting their shots, too."

Many of Feldeine's assists went inside to Rutty, who finished the game 11 of 14 from the floor.

"They just beat us in every phase of the game," Monmouth coach Dave Calloway said. "They outrebounded us, outshot and outworked us."

Rutty had his 13th double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) of the season by halftime. Feldeine also had 13 points at the half and James Johnson closed the first half with a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Bobcats a 39-23 lead, capping a 16-3 run.

Monmouth never made a run in the second half as Quinnipiac hit five 3-pointers and eventually opened up a 60-37 lead.

Quinnipiac has just one regular-season game left, a road game at Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. The Bobcats will enter the weekend trailing conference leader Robert Morris by a game in the NEC standings. Should Quinnipiac win and Robert Morris lose (the Colonials play at third-place Mount St. Mary's) the Bobcats would earn the No. 1 seed in next week's postseason tournament and an automatic berth into the NIT.

The winner of the NEC tournament gains entry into the NCAA tournament, and Quinnipiac is certainly one of the front-runners.

The 20 wins is a Division I record for the Bobcats and it is the 13th time this season they've won by double digits.

Villa defender Stephen Warnock conceded the foul with a rash challenge from behind on Alan Lee.

And Ambrose tucked away his spot-kick with aplomb.

Villa went ahead again in the 81st minute when Matt Lawrence hauled down Carew. The Norwegian striker picked himself up Clip on charms to drill in a right-foot penalty in front of the Holte End.

And the act was repeated a minute from time.

Again Lawrence was the guilty man and again Carew scored from the spot with a right-foot shot to take his tally for the season to eight.

Palace battled hard but the defeat would have been heavier were it not for some fine saves from Argentinian keeper Julian Speroni.

The Tongan has played more than 50 games for the Sharmans Cross outfit at No.8. But he has decided to make the switch to the front row permanent as Bees' struggles in the scrum threaten their Championship status.

"It's like going back to school again, I am effectively starting my career again," Halavatau says. FLINT Town needed an equaliser two minutes into injury time to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Bethesda Athletic and go back to the top of the table after one of their poorest showings of the season.

Bethesda dominated a blank first half and despite being reduced to 10 men when full-back Mark Thomas collected a second yellow card they still deservedly went ahead through Gareth Davies. It took a last-gasp defensive slip to allow Paul Williams to spare Flint's blushes.

Third-placed Llandudno, with games in hand, also let their promotion challenge slip by only managing a goalless draw at Penrhyncoch.

More concerned with not losing, both sides packed their defences and successfully froze out two ineffective attacks.

Byline: DAVE REID

BRITISH hope Tim Henman will draw inspiration from the Lions' rugby triumph over Australia when he faces Todd Martin in the fourth round at Wimbledon tomorrow.

The UK number one takes on Martin in the last 16 with the prize of a quarter-final tie with champion Pete Sampras on the cards.

And the 26-year-old will wear his Lions replica shirt as he seeks to reach the quarter-finals for the fifth time in six years.

"I watched the Lions match and it was great," said the sixth seed. "It helps creates a feelgood factor.

"When I walk into the locker room and there are a few Aussies in there will be a spring in my step."

Henman admitted being relieved yesterday after coming back from a set down against Sjeng Schalken on Friday night to book his place in the fourth round against a player he lost to in the 1996 quarter-finals.

Henman won their Davis Cup clash in 1999 and has inside know-ledge of the American's game after practising with him the week before Wimbledon.

"It was a close encounter in 1996 with just one break in the match," the Briton said. "His experience told a bit. I'm sure it will be close again.

"He's a dangerous grass court player and has been in big-match situations before.

"At this stage it boils down to who plays better on the day. I've been in this situation a few times and there is no fear - but there should always be nerves.

"When I talked about the second part of my career, from the end of 1999 to the start of 2000, I wanted to make a few changes to have consistency and play well in big events.

"My consistency has been as good as almost anybody but I haven't made the breakthrough at the Grand Slams.

"I very much feel this is an opportunity. Matches like this are what it's all about. It's what you dream about. It's pretty special to have 14,000 people watching, the vast majority urging you on."

Henman is still without a coach after splitting with David Felgate earlier in the year.

It's unlikely to be John McEnroe even though the former Wimbledon champ has offered his services.

"I'm benefiting from my independence right now. After Wimbledon will be time. McEnroe says he's available - but is he going to travel 35 weeks a year? Either you do it full time or you don't do it.

"There have been a few well publicised approaches and some who have actually gone through the right channels.

"You'd have to talk to the individual and make sure you're singing from the same hymn sheet."

Martin, 30, is also confident after coming through tough tests in the last two rounds.

"I feel good about my gamecially since I was down 2-0 on Wednesday (against Jiri Novak before winning 6-7 2-6 6-4 6-4 6-4) and played three good sets then, and four good sets to beat Magnus Larsson (4-6 6-0 6-3 7-5).

"I remember from 1996 how unfair everyone was to Tim on his first big occasion, thinking they were going to have a British champion.

"He's in great shape and understands the game - especially on grass

THROWING a football programme at an opposition player as he prepared to take a corner has led to a Bristol City fan being jailed for 16 weeks.

As well as losing his temper during the match, lifelong Robins fan Kevin Crehan lost his cool at Bristol Magistrates' Court this week when he realised his rash action during the 6-0 home defeat to Cardiff City had reactivated a suspended sentence.

Magistrates were half way through reading their sentence when it dawned on Crehan that he faced jail.

Waving his hand dismissively at the bench, he said: "Push off, the ground and began wrestling with the two men. It took seven security guards to subdue him and carry him kicking from the court to the cells below.

The incident occurred after Crehan, 28, of Springleaze, Knowle, pleaded guilty to throwing a programme onto the pitch from the Wedlock Stand at Ashton Gate on January 26, during a Championship match in which Bristol City were thrashed by their rivals from South Wales. The court heard that during the second half Crehan ran down towards the corner of the pitch to throw his programme at Cardiff 's Michael Chopra as he prepared to take a corner .

The programme narrowly missed Chopra's head, and Crehan was immediately bundled to the ground Prada Replica Handbags and arrested by police. In interview, Crehan told officers the player was making gestures and waving his fingers to signal the 5-0 score at the time. Defending, Selena Hunt invited magistrates not to impose a custodial sentence., saying normally they wouldn't consider custody for throwing a programme onto the pitch. She said: "This is a paper item given out free to everyone who was at the match. "Prior to this there was an event that caused lots of people to throw their programmes onto the pitch.

"What my client did is respond to that by singularly throwing his programme onto the pitch. It didn't hit him. "What differentiates this is it is not a coin, which could cause damage or injury , it is not food, which is disgusting." She added that Crehan had suffered huge personal embarrassment after the incident, that the Cardiff fans were laughing at him and making fun of him when he was arrested. But magistrates took a dim view of the incident. In a verdict interrupted by Crehan's violence, presiding magistrate Patricia Lee said: "This has been suggested to us as being minor, but we view it seriously.

"It was preceded by a positive action to run down the stands to the playing area, and you threw a rolled-up programme at a player." Magistrates said the incident would activate a suspended sentence. handed to Crehan on December 9 for assault, meaning he would serve 16 weeks. behind bars. No separate penalty was given for the charge of throwing the programme at the pitch.

Crehan had arrived at Bristol Magistrates' Court just after 10am. His case was heard at about 4.45pm, and he had been angry that people who had arrived after him had their cases heard before him. Ms Hunt said he was a vulnerable adult who suffered brain damage after an accident. Adam Baker, spokesman for Bristol City Football Club, said: "It is an offence to throw anything onto the pitch and we don't condone it in any way, whether it is bottles, coins or, in this instance, a programme."
